is reporting on the success of “Operation Snowflake,” a campaign to find adoptive homes for the almost one-half million frozen embryos not used for during fertilization procedures.  The campaign brings light to the many, many embryos that are created during fertility enhancement processes, but that are later unused (as only a few embryos are implanted out of the many that are created).  These nascent children are frozen, and scheduled for disposal.  But “Operation Snowflake” allows for adoptive parents to implant the embryo into the womb of the adoptive mother, so that she can bring the baby to term as her own.
