The International Weekend of Prayer and Fasting begins Friday. The Salvation Army, along with Concerned Women for America (CWA), is bringing attention to the issue of human trafficking through The International Weekend of Prayer and Fasting, Sept. 29 – Oct. 1.

Trafficking occurs every day around the globe. Women and children are bought and sold by those who wish to exploit the vulnerable to meet an end. That end is a life of working in sweatshops and fields, brothels and the sex industry.

“Human trafficking is a nexus of evil, as traffickers perform all manner of incomprehensible acts of cruelty, brutality, humiliation, dehumanization and exploitation,” the Salvation Army maintains. “The size and pervasiveness of the crime presents a formidable problem, but, with your assistance, we fight to end these untenable human-rights violations.”
