Judge Suspends Kentucky Law Protecting Funerals from Hate Speech
A federal judge in Frankfort, Ky., has temporarily barred the state from enforcing a law that bans protests at funerals, saying it appears to go too far in limiting free speech.
According the to Louisville Courier-Journal, U.S. District Judge Karen K. Caldwell issued the order Tuesday, saying the statute was unconstitutional because it not only bans any demonstration within 300 feet of a funeral, it also restricts comments and protest signs.
