California Campus Group Bans Pledge at Meetings

Student leaders at California’s Orange Coast College have banned the Pledge of Allegiance at their meetings, Reuters reported.

More than 28,000 students attend the community college located just south of Los Angeles.

Jason Bell, an elected student trustee, proposed the ban. He said the trustees didn’t want to publicly vow loyalty to the American flag or government.
