Alliance Defense Fund: ‘It’s OK to Say Merry Christmas’

The Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) has contacted nearly 11,500 school districts across the nation over the past month to explain the law with regard to the celebration of Christmas in the public schools.

Joe Infranco, senior counsel for ADF, said information has also been sent to the mayors of more than 5,500 cities, and legislators in Louisiana will receive information on Christmas expression from ADF and the Louisiana Family Forum as the Legislature commences a 10-day special session.

“Of course it’s ridiculous that Americans have to think twice about whether it’s OK to say Merry Christmas,” Infranco said. “It’s time to repair the damage that organizations like the American Civil Liberties Union have done to America’s favorite holiday. It’s a sad day in this country when you have to retain an attorney to wish someone a Merry Christmas. And an overwhelming majority of Americans oppose censoring Christmas.”

ADF has prepared a free informational pamphlet titled “The Truth about Religious Expression at Christmastime.”
