Michigan School Officials Must Recognize Students’ Free-Speech Rights

A federal judge ruled that Michigan school officials were wrong to forbid a middle-school student from participating in the Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity.

In October, Jefferson Middle School officials told a student he could not wear a sweatshirt with the slogan “Pray to end Abortion.” He also had to remove red tape from his mouth and was forbidden from handing out information.
